Blog · Complete example

Articles, authors, moderated comments and scheduled publication. cURL, PHP, Python.

Overview

Run your store’s blog with HTML articles, photos, authors and search metadata. Save drafts, prepare translations and publish immediately or at a chosen time in a specific time zone. Manage comments and moderation in the panel; an external generator can use the API with the permissions you grant.

  1. Authentication
  2. New author
  3. Upload article photos
  4. New article
  5. Edit article
  6. Schedule publication
  7. Read articles and preview drafts

Required permissions

BASIC · api.enabled · addons.use(shopently.blog)

  • addon.shopently.blog:author_create — Create article authors
  • addon.shopently.blog:media_upload — Upload article photos
  • addon.shopently.blog:post_create — Create article drafts
  • addon.shopently.blog:post_update — Edit article drafts and translations
  • addon.shopently.blog:post_publish — Publish, schedule and archive articles
  • addon.shopently.blog:post_read — Read articles and preview drafts

Required installed module: shopently.blog · Module contract version: 1.

Request

Have access to the store admin panel. Choose one environment: cURL, PHP or Python.

PHP 8.3 (64-bit, ext-curl, JSON) · Python 3.12 + requests · cURL 8 + jq 1.7.

SHOPENTLY_SHOP_URL: Your store's HTTPS address, without /api/v1. Replace the example below with your own address.

SHOPENTLY_SHOP_URL=https://shop.example

SHOPENTLY_API_KEY: The key generated in the store admin panel.

Save the JSON example as BLOG_JOB_FILE and a PNG as SHOPENTLY_IMAGE_FILE. Choose a private BLOG_STATE_DIR. Keep the original files and directory for retries; use a new job_id and directory for a new article.

Linux/POSIX · flock · sha256sum · sync · PNG ≤ 5 MiB · 8 MP · HTML ≤ 50000 · JSON ≤ 256 KiB.

Publication

Replace publish_at with a future time including its UTC offset and set the matching IANA timezone. Invalid or ambiguous daylight-saving times are rejected. BLOG_WAIT_SECONDS controls the publication wait; 0 reads the current state. Revoked permissions require a new publication confirmation.

Retry policy

Every resource write requires Idempotency-Key. Generate one key per logical operation; repeat the same key, method, target and payload when retrying that operation.
